Can I work with Indonesian clients using the E33G Remote Work Visa?

Last updated on Aug 30, 2026

No — the E33G Remote Work Visa only permits income from clients or employers located outside Indonesia. Working for, or being paid by, an Indonesian company or local client is not allowed under this visa, even for a single assignment.

This restriction applies regardless of how small the local engagement is. If you also want to work for Indonesian clients while in the country, you'll need a different visa/work permit (e.g. a KITAS with RPTKA sponsorship). If you're unsure, contact us before accepting any local work — a violation can put your visa at risk.
