No, health insurance is not a mandatory document for the E33G application with us. That said, we strongly recommend it, since medical treatment in Indonesia is paid out of pocket, and costs — for example for a hospital stay — can add up quickly. International health insurance with coverage in Indonesia protects you from unexpected high costs and is especially worthwhile for a longer stay of up to one year (or several years with extensions).
Yes — the E33G Remote Worker KITAS can be extended. As long as you still meet the requirements (annual income, bank balance, and an employment contract with a company based outside Indonesia), you can renew it for another 360 days — and you can do this again and again, year after year, with no fixed maximum.
An Exit Permit Only (EPO) is the official departure clearance required when you leave Indonesia for good and won't be renewing your E33G visa/KITAS. Without an EPO, you may run into complications with a future re-entry or a new visa application. You typically need an EPO when you let your KITAS expire and leave Indonesia permanently, or when you leave the country for good before your visa expires and don't plan to re-enter on this permit. If you plan to return later with a new E33G, reach out to us in advance — we'll help you check whether and when an EPO is required in your case.
No — the E33G Remote Work Visa only permits income from clients or employers located outside Indonesia. Working for, or being paid by, an Indonesian company or local client is not allowed under this visa, even for a single assignment. This restriction applies regardless of how small the local engagement is. If you also want to work for Indonesian clients while in the country, you'll need a different visa/work permit (e.g. a KITAS with RPTKA sponsorship). If you're unsure, contact us before accepting any local work — a violation can put your visa at risk.
As many times as you like — there's no fixed maximum. You can keep renewing your E33G year after year for as long as you continue to meet the requirements. The catch is that we have to re-verify everything at every single renewal: your annual income of at least USD 60,000, your bank balance of at least USD 2,000, and a valid employment contract with a company based outside Indonesia. As long as you can show all of that again each time, there's no limit on how many consecutive years you can stay.
In many cases, yes — a Dependent KITAS can generally be attached to your Remote Worker KITAS. Because the exact process and any extra paperwork for extending dependents alongside you can vary by case, please reach out to us directly and we'll walk you through what's needed for your family.
Yes. The extension is an onshore-only process: you need to be in Indonesia for the full procedure and appear in person for your biometrics appointment at the immigration office. This is different from a first-time E33G application, which can also be filed from outside the country.
For a regular E33G extension, plan for around 14 working days from the point your complete application and payment reach us — roughly two to three weeks in practice. Processing speed can vary a little depending on the immigration office handling your case, so we'll keep you updated if your timeline looks different. It's always better to plan more time instead of too less.
You submit your details and documents through us, we check everything for completeness and correctness, and once your payment is confirmed we submit your case to the immigration office. From there, we'll give you a specific appointment time — you'll need to visit the immigration office in person with your passport for a photo and fingerprints. After that, we monitor the process until your new ITK (stay permit) is issued, and let you know as soon as it's ready.
We recommend starting 30 days before your current KITAS expires — that's the earliest the application can be filed, and also the latest safe point to begin, since it must be submitted before your permit's expiry date. Get in touch with us as soon as your renewal date is on the horizon and we'll manage the timeline for you.
