Yes — you can now extend your E33G Remote Worker KITAS from inside Indonesia. This is a fairly recent change: until recently, the only way to continue past the first year was to exit the country and file a completely new application. We now handle onshore extensions for our clients, adding up to another 360 days to your permit without a mandatory exit. You'll still need to be in Indonesia for your appointment at the immigration office, but there's no need to fly out and back in.
Typically, 4- 5 weeks before the current KITAS expires. The process of the extension takes about 14 working days, but it's better to have good time.
These are the steps for the Remote Work KITAS Extension. Please note that the extension is only possible if you are inside of Indoensia. 1. Purchase the Remote Work Visa Extension on our website and submit the extension form afterwards. 2. We will check your data and documents and get back to you within one business day via email or WhatsApp. 3. If everything is correct and we have received your visa fee payment, we will submit your data to the Immigration office. 4. Once we get the date and time of your personal appointment at the immigration we will let you know. 5. After the photo and fingerprints are taken, we will wait until the extension process is done and the new E-KITAS is issued. The extension process is about 14 working days and the extension process can only start 30 days before your current stay permit expires.
Yes, as of the recent update, a Remote Work Visa extension is possible. You no longer automatically need to close the permit (EPO), exit, and re-apply from abroad each year.
Yes, dependents (spouse, children, and — since a late-2025 framework update — also parents/siblings in some cases) can be included via a Dependent KITAS or Spouse KITAS. Therefore, you first have to apply for your Remote Work KITAS. Afterwards, it's possible to apply for the Family/Dependent KITAS. You are NOT allowed to - work for Indonesian clients or companies - receive payment from within Indonesia - sell goods/services in Indonesia (including renting out rooms/villas to guests) - set up or run a business in Indonesia
For the Remote Work KITAS extension, we'll need almost the same documents as for the initial application. The required documents are: - a colour scan of your passport ID page (with at least 18 months' remaining validity), - a recent passport-style photo, - a personal bank statement from the last three months showing a minimum balance of USD 2,000 (or equivalent in a different currency), - proof of annual income of at least USD 60,000, - your employment contract with a company based outside Indonesia - and your current KITAS/ITK. - A CV helps but isn't strictly required. Send these documents to us and we'll check everything before submission.
The E33G does not automatically lead to a KITAP (permanent stay permit) and is not considered a basis for one. Switching to, for example, a Work KITAS (E23) with an Indonesian employer is possible but requires a separate process (including RPTKA approval).
Yes, you must remain in the country throughout the entire extension process, partly due to the required in-person biometric registration at the immigration office.
Financial proof for the Remote Work KITAS is: - Bank balance over the last 3 months: min. USD 2,000 and - Proof of annual income of USD 60,000 or a monthly salary of USD 5,000
