No — it’s now much easier than it used to be. Since September 2023, the Indonesian government has significantly simplified the process for international performers. In the past, applying for a performer visa required:
- a work permit from Immigration
- police clearance
- proof of at least 5 years of professional experience
- extensive documentation from promoters
For short-term music performance visas, these requirements no longer apply.
Today, the C7A Music Performer Visa (and C7B for supporting crew) is far simpler, faster, and more accessible, making it easier for international DJs, artists, and performers to work legally in Indonesia.
