Can I bring my prescription medication into Indonesia?

Yes, but you should prepare documentation, especially for anything beyond basic over-the-counter medicine.

Bring your medication in its original packaging along with a doctor's letter (stating your name, diagnosis, medication names, dosage, and treatment duration, ideally on official letterhead). Regular prescriptions are generally fine for up to a 90-day supply; psychotropic medications (including some ADHD, anti-anxiety and antidepressant medication) are limited to a 60-day supply and may need extra documentation; narcotics and certain strong painkillers are heavily restricted or prohibited without special pre-approval.

Declare your medication on the Arrival Card / at customs rather than risk being found with undeclared medicine — Indonesia enforces its drug laws strictly. If you take a controlled or less common medication, we recommend checking with the Indonesian embassy in your country before you travel.
