There are no pick-up or delivery costs, because passport collection is no longer required for visa extensions in Indonesia. We only need scans/photos of your documents. The only time you need your physical passport is during your personal visit to the Immigration office. After the appointment, you take your passport back with you immediately. Your passport does not stay at Immigration.
In most cases, the appointment can be completed in around 30 minutes, including biometrics (photo, fingerprints) and data verification. We always try to schedule your visit at a time with minimal waiting time. However, waiting times at Immigration depend on the daily workload, national holidays, system delays, or internal queues. In some cases, the visit can take longer than expected, so we recommend planning extra buffer time.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months at the time of the extension. If your passport has less than 6 months remaining, Immigration will not process your extension. For some visa types (especially longer-term visas), a longer validity period may be required. Please check the “Requirements” section of the specific visa you are applying for. Tip: If your passport is close to expiring, renew it before starting your trip to avoid delays or rejection.
Yes. For the visa extension, your passport does not stay at Immigration. The extension is processed online, and you only need to bring your passport to the appointment for photo and fingerprints. Once the appointment is finished, you take your passport back with you immediately. You will not be asked to leave your passport at Immigration.
No, pick-up is not included. You need to organize your own transport (scooter, car, taxi, ride-hailing service) to the immigration office for your photo and fingerprints appointment. We will inform you about the exact date and time of your appointment as soon as it is scheduled by immigration. Please make sure you can be available on that day and plan enough time for the visit.
You can submit your extension no earlier than 14 days before your visa expires. We recommend applying about 10 days before, but it's still possible later, even on the day your visa expires. It makes no difference when you apply: the 60 additional days are always added to your original 60 days. You can book with us at any time; we'll start the process automatically as soon as the 14-day window opens. Please note that if you are very short on time, we might not be able to help.
After 180 days, you must leave Indonesia. But you can apply for a new visa. If you visit often, the D1 multiple-entry visa is a good choice: you get up to 180 days per stay, and it's valid for 1, 2 or 5 years. For a long-term stay, a KITAS is the better option, e.g., the E33G Remote Worker visa or the Retirement KITAS if you are already retired. We're happy to advise you.
