For all visa extensions, Immigration now requires: - one (1) mandatory in-person visit to the local Immigration Office - for photo, fingerprints, and data verification All other steps of the extension are done online by us or through the official system.

For safety, we recommend carrying: - a printed copy of your passport, or - a digital scan/photo of your passport on your smartphone This is usually sufficient for identification if needed.

If your visa has already expired, you must expect to pay an overstay fine of 1,000,000 IDR per person per day. The fine must be paid in cash at the airport or at the Immigration Office when you leave Indonesia. It's important to plan a bit of extra time for the payment process. Longer overstays can lead to more serious consequences, such as: - Complications with future visa applications - Deportation - Entry bans What should you do now? ✔ 1. If your visa type can still be extended Start the extension process immediately. Whether an extension is still possible depends on your visa type and how long you have overstayed. ✔ 2. If an extension is not possible Leave Indonesia as soon as possible to minimize the overstay fine and avoid further consequences. Important: The longer you remain in Indonesia without a valid visa, the higher the risk of: - increased fines - administrative issues - immigration investigations If you are unsure whether your visa can still be extended, contact us, and we will assess your options.
You do not need to leave your passport at Immigration. You only bring it for your biometrics appointment and you take it back with you immediately afterward. As long as your visa extension was submitted before your current visa expired, you will not incur any overstay fees. Immigration counts the submission date, not the approval date. So even if your extension is still being processed when your original visa expires, you are legally covered.
There is no fully online extension anymore. However, you must visit the Immigration Office once for mandatory data verification, including: - Photo (biometrics) - Fingerprints - Short verification check All other steps are handled digitally by us.
