Yes. Completing the All Indonesia Arrival Card, which includes the customs declaration and health form, is mandatory for all travelers entering Indonesia. The Arrival Card can be filled out at the earliest 3 days (72 hours) before your arrival. When booking through us, you can provide us with your information earlier and we will send you the Arrival Card approximately 2 days before your arrival. If you haven’t completed it in advance, you can still fill it out at the airport, but you may experience longer waiting times. To ensure a smoother arrival, we recommend completing the form before your trip.
Possibly yes, but it won't happen automatically: under Indonesian tax law, holding a KITAS like the E33G can trigger tax residency ("intent to reside") from the day you arrive — regardless of how many days you actually spend in the country. This is a separate test from the often-cited 183-day rule, and in practice it isn't always applied consistently. As a tax resident, you may need to register for an NPWP (Indonesian tax ID) and file an annual return, in principle on your worldwide income. Since Indonesia has double taxation agreements (DTAs) with many countries, tax already paid abroad can often be credited — but the exact effect depends on your home country and personal situation. This is not individual tax advice, since tax rules are complex and can change. We recommend consulting a licensed Indonesian tax advisor before or shortly after you arrive, to assess your specific situation (home country, applicable DTA, length of stay).
An Exit Permit Only (EPO) is the official departure clearance required when you leave Indonesia for good and won't be renewing your E33G visa/KITAS. Without an EPO, you may run into complications with a future re-entry or a new visa application. You typically need an EPO when you let your KITAS expire and leave Indonesia permanently, or when you leave the country for good before your visa expires and don't plan to re-enter on this permit. If you plan to return later with a new E33G, reach out to us in advance — we'll help you check whether and when an EPO is required in your case.
No — the E33G Remote Work Visa only permits income from clients or employers located outside Indonesia. Working for, or being paid by, an Indonesian company or local client is not allowed under this visa, even for a single assignment. This restriction applies regardless of how small the local engagement is. If you also want to work for Indonesian clients while in the country, you'll need a different visa/work permit (e.g. a KITAS with RPTKA sponsorship). If you're unsure, contact us before accepting any local work — a violation can put your visa at risk.
Yes — for the E33G Remote Work Visa (Digital Nomad Visa Indonesia), we also accept freelancers and self-employed applicants, as long as you can prove a minimum annual income of USD 60,000 from outside Indonesia, for example through your own foreign company. What matters is that the income is clearly foreign-sourced — shown through bank statements, invoices, or a contract with your client(s). A traditional employment contract is therefore not a strict requirement; the income proof is what counts. Get in touch with us beforehand if you're unsure which documents will work best for your situation.
Typically, 4- 5 weeks before the current KITAS expires. The process of the extension takes about 14 working days, but it's better to have good time.
These are the steps for the Remote Work KITAS Extension. Please note that the extension is only possible if you are inside of Indoensia. 1. Purchase the Remote Work Visa Extension on our website and submit the extension form afterwards. 2. We will check your data and documents and get back to you within one business day via email or WhatsApp. 3. If everything is correct and we have received your visa fee payment, we will submit your data to the Immigration office. 4. Once we get the date and time of your personal appointment at the immigration we will let you know. 5. After the photo and fingerprints are taken, we will wait until the extension process is done and the new E-KITAS is issued. The extension process is about 14 working days and the extension process can only start 30 days before your current stay permit expires.
Yes, as of the recent update, a Remote Work Visa extension is possible. You no longer automatically need to close the permit (EPO), exit, and re-apply from abroad each year.
Yes, dependents (spouse, children, and — since a late-2025 framework update — also parents/siblings in some cases) can be included via a Dependent KITAS or Spouse KITAS. Therefore, you first have to apply for your Remote Work KITAS. Afterwards, it's possible to apply for the Family/Dependent KITAS.
