Yes. Every person traveling to Indonesia needs a visa — without exception. This includes children, infants, and senior citizens. If you are unsure which visa is right for you or your family, you can use the Visa Finder on our homepage. It shows you the correct visa type within just a few seconds.
No, health insurance is not a mandatory document for the E33G application with us. That said, we strongly recommend it, since medical treatment in Indonesia is paid out of pocket, and costs — for example for a hospital stay — can add up quickly. International health insurance with coverage in Indonesia protects you from unexpected high costs and is especially worthwhile for a longer stay of up to one year (or several years with extensions).
Both are possible. It's easier and cheaper to apply from outside of Indonesia, but it's also possible to convert (for example, your C1 visa or even Visa on Arrival) to the Remote Work KITAS. Please contact us for further help.
Yes — the E33G Remote Worker KITAS can be extended. As long as you still meet the requirements (annual income, bank balance, and an employment contract with a company based outside Indonesia), you can renew it for another 360 days — and you can do this again and again, year after year, with no fixed maximum.
Yes, but you should prepare documentation, especially for anything beyond basic over-the-counter medicine. Bring your medication in its original packaging along with a doctor's letter (stating your name, diagnosis, medication names, dosage, and treatment duration, ideally on official letterhead). Regular prescriptions are generally fine for up to a 90-day supply; psychotropic medications (including some ADHD, anti-anxiety and antidepressant medication) are limited to a 60-day supply and may need extra documentation; narcotics and certain strong painkillers are heavily restricted or prohibited without special pre-approval. Declare your medication on the Arrival Card / at customs rather than risk being found with undeclared medicine — Indonesia enforces its drug laws strictly. If you take a controlled or less common medication, we recommend checking with the Indonesian embassy in your country before you travel. (This is general information, not medical or legal advice.)
If you stay within the international transit area and don't pass through Indonesian immigration, you generally don't need to complete the Arrival Card. But if your transit requires you to clear immigration — for example, a terminal change at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta Airport, an overnight layover, or a stop where you must collect and re-check your luggage — you're considered to be entering the country and must complete the Arrival Card, just like any other arriving traveler. If you're unsure whether your specific connection requires clearing immigration, check with your airline.

The required passport validity depends on your visa type and your situation. You can find the exact requirement in the “Requirements” section of each visa type. Standard Tourist Visas Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months on the date of your arrival in Indonesia. This 6-month validity is also required when applying for a visa extension. Long-term visas (1 year or more) For visas with a longer validity period, Immigration may require 18 months or more of passport validity. Replacement or Temporary Travel Documents If you enter Indonesia with a replacement travel document, you must have: - 12 months passport validity, and - a valid residence permit at the time of entry. Summary - 6 months → eVOA, C1, C6, ... & extensions - 12 months → entry with replacement/temporary travel document - 18+ months → long-term visas (1 year+) If your passport is close to expiring, it’s strongly recommended to renew it before applying.
When entering Indonesia, travellers are allowed to bring certain goods duty-free, up to the limits set by Indonesian Customs. 1.
